MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

Non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) enables Medicaid beneficiaries to obtain covered medical services from both local providers and from tertiary care centers at some distance from their homes. Prior approval is required to utilize this service and may set limits on the number of trips allowed per month.

Serving El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth, Brewster,Presidio, and Jeff Davis Counties.

Medicaid Eligibility and reservation required.

Project Amistad is a local non profit agency established to provide an array of services to elderly people, people with disabilities, and people at risk.

Project Amistad administers a network of transportation programs in El Paso and the 6 County rural area of far west Texas.

Project Amistad is the contracted provider of services to the County of El Paso. They provide fixed route, express route, and ADA demand response services.

Project Amistad is also the Medical Transportation Program (MTP) provider for Medicaid eligible clients in El Paso,Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Brewster and Presidio Counties.

Project Amistad provides transportation services to people with disabilities whose trip originates in the outside the City limits of El Paso, but within the County area. This New Freedom Program provides transportation for medical, employment, social or recreational purposes. To be eligible, application needs to be made with VOLAR Center for Independent Living at 915.591.0800.

- Project Amistad’s transportation services include Medicaid Transportation Services for Medicaid-eligible passengers in 23 counties of Far West Texas.

- Project Amistad transports passengers who apply through Volar Center for Independent Living in El Paso.

- Project Amistad continues to provide fixed-route service for Sun Metro.

- Veterans including homeless veterans may qualify to receive transportation through Project Amistad’s Amistad for Veterans Program (AFVP).

Midessa Transportation
Serving the Cities of Midland and Odessa.

Taxi, Airport and Medical Transportation

Midessa is a privately owned taxi company operating in Midland, Odessa, Midland International Airport and locations in between. It operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, all year long utilizing a fleet of 38 vehicles including many which are ADA equipped for people with disabilities. Midessa subcontracts with West Texas Opportunities for provision of Medicaid Medical Transportation Services.

LeFleur Transportation
Serving El Paso area, Grant, Dona Ana, Hidalgo, Otero, and Luna counties in New Mexico.

LeFleur Transportation is a non-emergency medical transportation company operating in the El Paso and Las Cruces areas. Lefleur has successfully operated for 3 years in El Paso providing shuttle services for the Health & Human Service Commission and Family Protective Services. Currently, LeFleur provides NEMT for Health Care services under contract with Access 2 Care and Medical Transportation Management (MTM). LeFleur can also offer contract and non-contract services for other healthcare agencies and for private pay consumers.

Serving El Paso County.

Viba is a privately owned, non-emergency medical transportation service in El Paso county. Viba is committed to providing comprehensive, efficient, and affordable transportation to senior adults.

Viba provides contracted medical transportation for medicare and medicaid providers. Viba also contracts for other healthcare agencies and private pay consumers. Reservations are required.

Big Bend Regional Medical Center (BBRMC)
BBRMC provides group transportation to the Allison Breast Imaging Center in Midland for mammogram's and follow ups.

Trips are scheduled for one day per month from Alpine. Other Brewster County residents need to travel to Alpine for the group ride. The service is free and is available to anyone traveling to the Breast Center. Riders should call 432.837.0254 to be placed on the waiting list for the appointment date. Wheelchair accessible.

Big Bend Community Action Committee
Serving five counties: Brewster, Presidio, Jeff Davis, Culberson, and Hudspeth Counties.

Big Bend Community Action Committee, Inc. (BBCAC), Trax Transportation is available for Public and Medical transportation services, for individuals from birth to the elderly, and disabled. This includes the general public, seniors, veterans, and medical transportation recipients. This service includes destinations into Odessa, Midland, El Paso, and surrounding areas.

Medical Transportation: BBCAC Trax Transportation provides transportation to medical facilities, to destinations stated above. Medicaid recipients need to call the Medicaid office to get their trip approved.

All trips are a "Shared Ride", and pick up times depend on the earliest appointment time scheduled. Fares are collected depending on distance traveled to and from destinations.
