Disabled residents who live, work or play in El Paso County seeking to learn how to travel in and around the Sun City using any of the county’s fixed-route providers can learn how with Volar Center for Independent Living’s Travel Training Program.

The Travel Training Program provides:
  - Increased independence
  - Greater opportunities for employment
  - More access to community activities

Volar also provides consumers assistance with applications to Project Amistad Medical Transportation, New Freedom and Job Access programs, and the Sun Metro LIFT services.

Sun Metro has proudly served El Pasoans for more than 30 years, accommodating the wide-ranging transit needs of a growing community, linking individuals from two countries and three states with fixed-route and paratransit services, LIFT. The mission of Sun Metro is to provide a safe, reliable, clean bus driven by a professional coach operator that practices excellent customer service. Sun Metro recognizes that serving the public is our reason for existing and will strive to do whatever possible to assure our public a pleasant experience.

Along with a military discount for Active/Retired/Military Dependents (Must Show valid military ID,) Sun Metro also provides up to 90 days of free transportation to veterans with transit needs. Veterans should contact their service agency or call Sun Metro at 212-3338 or 212-3340.

El Paso County Rural Transportation
El Paso County Transit is The Rural Transit District for El Paso County and manages five commuter routes, an inter-city commuter service and an extensive vanpool program. The County’s general public commuter service operates Monday through Saturday and connects the cities of Anthony, Horizon, San Elizario and Socorro, the Town of Clint, the Village of Vinton, and the unincorporated areas of Westway, Canutillo, Montana Vista, Agua Dulce, Sparks, Fabens and Tornillo in El Paso County with the city of El Paso at one of Sun Metro’s Transfer Centers. The commuter service is provided in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Transportation and inter-city commuter service which operates Monday through Friday connecting downtown El Paso, Sun Metro’s Westside Transfer Center, Anthony, New Mexico State University and downtown Las Cruces, New Mexico.
